Create Orange County with Jodi Ohl, Spill Splatter Drip and Paint

In case you weren't aware, I wanted to share an exciting event that I will be teaching at June 2nd and 3rd, 2012....CREATE in Orange County, which is sponsored by the folks at Interweave and Cloth Paper Scissors.   Today I'm showing my full day class,  "Spill Splatter Drip and Paint" which incorporates a bit of color composition, abstract techniques, layering, mixing medias (we will use acrylics, mediums, chalk, charcoal, crayons, pastels, stamps, stencils...and more), most of all...It will be total fun...intuitive painting at its best!
Here is the official class description!
Spill, Splatter, Drip and Paint! (6-Hour)

Date: Saturday, June 2Time: 9:00am-4:00pm Technique: Printmaking & Surface Design Instructor: Jodi OhlPrice: $149.00 Materials Fee: $12.00
Let loose and explore the wonder of abstract mixed-media painting where we will incorporate spilling, splattering, paint drips, a bit of graffiti, collage and more during this freestyle painting class.  Be inspired to be bold, to be daring, to build it up and then take it away during this workshop that is more than just a painting class, it's a journey.

Students Should Bring: 16 x 20 canvas (or an unstretched piece of canvas material if you are traveling), paint scraper (old credit card, gift card or palette knife), 3-4 complimentary artist grade paints (suggest, liquitex, Golden Fluid Acrylic, or Matisse Flow acrylic) (try to choose one light, one dark, and at least one contrasting color),  variety of paint brushes including at least one large brush for color washes, water spray bottle, paint palette. Hair dryer or heat gun helpful.
To register for this fun class (and my first workshop on the WEST COAST!! woot woot) be sure to go to the Orange County Create website.  Once registered, you will find the selections of workshops to add to your cart, and then you can finalize your purchases.  (I will be teaching 2 other 3 hour classes as well...so feel free to add more classes!!)

I also decided to be a vendor at their infamous Artist Faire, Friday evening which I'm totally pumped up about. I can't wait to share my originals as well as some other treasured supplies I've collected along the way with all the participants of this years event.   To be honest....I'm also a little scared, I guess it's just the first time jitters..never been to California, never had to ship all my artwork and supplies somewhere...so this is all new to me but it's an adventure and one that I'm so blessed to be on. I wake up every morning and really have to pinch myself to say, yes I'm actually doing this...day in and day out!

Again, hope to see you there and if you could help spread the word...I'd be grateful too!!!

With love and endless creativity to you,   my best....Jodi Ohl
